How does one start over after the loss of a loved one. It is a monumental task that just feels overwhelming at times. Similar rebuilding occurs after the death, divorce or separation of a loved one. First comes the shock of the loss and an almost denial that is has happened, particularly if there was no warning. We have hopes and dreams of the future that include our loved one and suddenly he or she is not there. How will we cope. How can we go on. But go on we must and we will. Often times our first step is to attempt to regain what we have lost. This is impossible if our loved one has died but that doesn t stop us from trying. A lot of what we go through in our grieving process is our best attempt to keep that person alive and well in our perception. So, we do things like go over the memories, look through picture albums, talk about our loved one to everyone who will...

How do you live your life. At cause or at effect. It is important to be aware of this distinction. It is the rare individual who always lives his or her life at cause; however, far too many of us live a large portion of our lives at effect - responding to the whims, desires or emotional states of others. Being at cause means that you are decisive in creating what you want in life and take responsibility for whatever you achieve. You see the world as a place of opportunity and you move toward achieving what you desire. If things are not unfolding as you would like, you take action and explore other possibilities. Above all, you know you have choice in what you do and how you react to people and events. If you are at effect, you may blame others or circumstances for your bad moods, for what you have not achieved or for the disarray of your life in general. You may feel...

According to the Buteyko Method, the key to Asthma and other diseases lies in the gas - carbon dioxide. Consider the following facts: The basic reaction that produces the energy inside each of our body cells involves two main gases. Most energy comes from the breakdown or burning of sugars carbohydrates in the presence of oxygen O2 . This produces a nice amount of energy that we use to run our bodies. It also produces water and very importantly carbon dioxide. So we have: Carbohydrate Oxygen Are reacted in the cells to produce ENERGY Water Carbon Dioxide The amount of carbohydrate and oxygen used up and the amount of water and carbon dioxide produced depends on the energy need of the cell. For example running up a flight of stairs will use up more oxygen and produce more carbon dioxide than sitting quietly in front of your computer. To keep the levels of both oxygen...
